Add a signature to an image

Sign a photo, a scanned page, or any JPG, PNG, or WebP image with eDocu. Draw, type, or upload your signature, place it where it belongs, and download the signed image.

Sign an image

How it works

  1. Open the eDocu signer and choose your image.
  2. Create a signature: draw it with a mouse or finger, type your name, or upload an image of your signature.
  3. Place the signature on the image and resize it. You can add more than one signature if needed.
  4. Download the signed image.

Supported image formats

  • JPG / JPEG
  • PNG
  • WebP

The same signer also works with PDF documents, so you can use it for images and PDFs alike.

Your image stays an image

A signed image downloads as an image in its original format, not as a PDF: a JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG, and a WebP stays a WebP. The signed copy keeps the original pixel dimensions of your image. JPG and WebP are compressed formats, so the signed copy is saved again at high quality; PNG is saved without quality loss.

Some browsers cannot create WebP files. In that case eDocu saves the signed image as PNG and tells you when the download is ready.

When a PDF is the better choice

If you need to send several images as one document, or the recipient asks for a PDF, combine the images first with the Image to PDF tool. Then open the resulting PDF in the eDocu signer and sign it.

A simple electronic signature

eDocu adds a visual signature to your image. It does not issue digital certificates or verify identities. For regulated or high-risk documents, check the Terms and consider a certified e-signature provider.
